Chee Cheong Fun @ Kimberly Street

Started business in 1979, this old couple has been selling "Chee Cheong Fun" for 40 years, currently located at busy junction of Kimberly Street and Kuala Kangsar Road. The "Chee Cheong Fun" was oily smooth with mild salty taste, slightly different than I used to eat at most of places in Penang. A sprinkle of sesame seeds added extra aromatic flavor to the dish.
The stall owner was enthusiastically taught us the best way to consume his "Chee Cheong Fun", so that we can enjoy three different kind of tastes. Initially eat just plain "Chee Cheong Fun" without any sauce, secondly dipping with shrimp paste and chili sauce, and finally dipping with black sweet sauce. Over the short conversations, visibly the stall owner was confidence and proud of his very own version of "Chee Cheong Fun". Even the Chinese-American celebrity Chef Martin Yan and Hong Kong TVB actress Aimee Chan had came all the way here personally. One of best kochabi  "Chee Cheong Fun" on island. 👍
